“Achieving the unachievable – vibration correlation measurements on lightweight automotive structures

Vibration measurement for structural dynamic applications is a well-established technique. However, with newer, lightweight materials the weight of traditional accelerometers in relation to the material is increasingly becoming a significant uncertainty in the measurement. Uncertainty in the measurement is translated to uncertainty in any FEA model correlation exercise. To bring FEA models of modern lightweight materials up to the confidence level of traditional metals, advanced measurement techniques are needed. ASDEC is utilising high-density non-contact laser Doppler vibrometry measurements of structures to correlate models. This allows for previously unachievable accuracy and detail in the modal models used for correlation” – Tim Stubbs, General Manager (ASDEC)

Some of the areas which will be presented at this upcoming event will include:
  • NVH analysis
  • Occupant/pedestrian safety
  • Engine/emissions testing
  • Track simulation and laboratory testing
  • Dynamometers
  • Vehicle dynamics testing
  • Materials testing
  • Aerodynamic and wind tunnel testing
  • Vibration and shock testing
  • Acoustic testing
  • Environmental testing
  • Mechanical testing
  • Hydraulics testing
  • Electrical system testing
  • Reliability/life-cycle testing
  • Test facility
And many, many more. Please visit the exhibition website for the full list. This year ASDEC will be attending on stand 1382.  We are also presenting at the show and would be delighted to see you there. To register please click here
